Achievements of the Philadelphia Convention.”
At least 400 words APA format
In McClellan: Chapter 3, James McClellan describes “the Achievements of the Philadelphia Convention.” Some of the achievements that he describes relate to the following issues: the size and scope of the government, large states and small states, voting, representation, slavery, the power of the executive, and the independence of the judiciary.
In Hall: Chapters 3 – 4, Hall describes the Founding Father’s understanding of religion and politics. In Hall: Chapter 3, he argues that even the Founding Fathers like Jefferson and Madison who argued for greater separation of church and state than most Founding Fathers, didn’t advocate the very high wall of separation that some do today. Hall: Chapter 4 shows that the Founding Fathers believed that governmental authorities should promote religion and morality (and in fact, that the necessary foundation for republican government is a religion-shaped morality).
Based upon your reading from McClellan: Chapter 3 (which will help you with the first two questions) and Hall: Chapters 3 – 4 (which will help you with the last two questions), answer the following four questions:
