Lean organizational structure is an organizational structure formulated to create more customer value using the limited available resources. It focuses on maximizing the value of the customer while minimizing the wastes. A lean organizational structure primarily focuses on the customer with the aim of providing customer satisfaction while increasing their worth (Siegel et al, 2019). In an organization, lean production increases the speed of production while minimizing the wastes and labor. It also improves the quality of the produce. In Lean Organizational structure, there is efficiency in production and thus workers get enough time and resources for invention and innovation leading to the production of high quality products.
Moreover, in lean manufacturing, an organization produces its products in correspondence to the demand and market value. Therefore, in case of decreased demands, the organization will not suffer bad losses since it only produces the required market quantities. Also, a Lean Organizational Structure improves workers satisfaction and optimism. Since lean organizations are well structured and planned, the employees know what is expected of them and they are not bound by a regular routine which could cause boredom. Therefore, the employees’ gratification leads to increased work rate, hence increased output. Further, a Lean Organizational Structure results to improved incomes. Lean production focuses more on increasing productivity with few wastes and expenditures which leads to increased profits.
Organizational metrics are the indicators that show the progress of a company in terms of growth, objectives and values. They include the growth of the company’s revenues, the profits made by the organization, customer satisfaction, and the rate at which the company maintains its customers (Singh & Sarkar, 2022). When considering an organization’s performance metrics, I feel that the organization should consider the profit margin metric over the others.
Business organizations should value the indicator of profit margins over the others because the profits of a business indicate its market performance. Further, most of the performance metrics such as revenue growth and customer satisfaction are determined by the profits. If an organization’s profit margins are high, it is an indicator that their products have high market value, and thus the organization is growing. Profits enable an organization to maintain its operations and therefore an organization should look for the best possible ways to maximize their profits. Profit margins indicate the demand of an organization’s products for decision making. Besides, earning profit is the key goal of starting and running any business organization.
In an organization, quality management framework states the organization’s objectives responsibilities. A quality management framework should focus on meeting the clients’ needs and customer satisfaction (Vanichchinchai, 2019). Further, a quality management should focus on attaining the organization’s goals through improving the company’s productivity using the limited resources while minimizing the wastes, maximizing its profits, and improving the quality of the produce.
According to me, the quality management framework which yields the most meaningful information for organizations to improve its quality is the quality circles. In business organizations, quality circles is practiced when all the groups of workers in a particular company meet and discuss the solutions to challenges affecting that particular organization. Also, the meetings can be conducted for decision making issues involving production. I think that this quality management framework yields the most meaningful information because different ideas are combined for decision making where the best wins. Further, decision making is more accurate where consultation and discussion is involved. Therefore, the “small circles” improves the quality of an organization through improvising good decision making strategies.
