| Overview | “Education for Critical Social Work Practice in Mental Health” by Christine Morley and Kate Stenhouse delves into the challenges social workers face in navigating medically dominated mental health settings. Despite the prevalence of the biomedical model, there is a growing push for social work to assert its distinct role aligned with social justice values. This paper explores how social work education, particularly through critically reflective pedagogies and methodologies, can foster transformative learning. Through a co-constructed process between educator and student, opportunities for critical practice in mental health are unearthed.
