List steps in the research process that you think psychologists go through. Try to list at least 10 steps

Instructions

Research steps

1.  List steps in the research process that you think psychologists go through. Try to list at least 10 steps, beginning with # 1: Getting a Research Idea, and ending with # 10: publishing the results. You can list more than 10 if you’d like, but you must have at least 10! Because this is not something we have covered in depth yet, this can be an educated guess based on your own initial thoughts of what you think researchers do.

2. Describe  and explain the purpose of each step for conducting research
3. What do you think are the 5 most important steps? Why are these the most important?

Pause Problems

1. Explain, in your own words (do not just copy and paste from the PowerPoint or the internet!), what the difference between descriptive and inferential statistics are.

Explain, again in your own words, why taking a statistics class is important? Why is it required for the psychology major?

Describe and explain the purpose of each step for conducting research

Getting research ideas aids in bringing focus and assistance in identifying areas of significance and examining and studying such areas.

Choosing a study topic helps reveal the research’s objective orientation, the objectives to be achieved by a psychologist while undertaking research.

A theory gives concepts to name what we see and explains how concepts are interrelated.

Picking a suitable research approach and creating a study plan helps in impacting the research report’s effectiveness and overall quality.

Gathering information help in making plans for your organization’s work to become more fully inclusive.

Analyzing the information helps the psychologist in thoroughly reviewing his research findings.

Drawing conclusions enables readers to develop skills because it encourages them to pay attention to what they are reading.

Reporting the findings, it’s necessary for dissemination, Synthesis, and EBM (evidence-based management); Synthesis of research is one example.

Topic research plays an essential role in identifying areas of importance in highlighting key regions and prospects for further analysis and research.

Publishing the report sends a clear message to potential research sponsors and employers that the researcher can complete a project and providing a tangible result. (Rodriguez et al, 2021)

What do you think are the five most important steps? Why are these the most important?

Getting Research Idea, Pick a suitable research approach and create a study plan, Gather information, Topic research, and Analyzing the information are essential steps in the research process the psychologist go through.

This is because analyzing information helps in reviewing research findings, and gathering information help to organize work to become fully inclusive; picking a suitable research approach impacts research reports to be effective. Topic research helps in identifying areas of importance in the research.

Difference between descriptive and inferential statistics

Descriptive statistics highlight the features of a data set, collect data of group members, and present the group properties using summary statistics and graphing. In contrast, inferential statistics allow you to test a hypothesis or determine whether your information can generalize to a broader number of people.

Why taking a statistics class is vital for a psychology major?

Statistics enable psychologists to report information in a much more appropriate way. Psychologists understand the data they’ve collected to the test to see whether that interpretation is accurate. Researchers can still use statistical analysis to determine if a hypothesis is accepted or denied.
